Laundry Attendant / Laundry Assistant
Position Overview
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and delivering linen and guest clothing in a timely and professional manner. The role ensures high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation, consistent with UAE/GCC hospitality standards.

Reports To: Laundry Supervisor / Executive Housekeeper / Laundry Manager
Key Responsibilities
Laundry Operations
- Collect linen, uniforms, and guest clothing for laundry service.
- Sort laundry items by type, color, and washing instructions.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Treat stains, delicate items, and special garments according to standard procedures.
- Fold, press, and package clean linen and guest laundry.
- Deliver cleaned and pressed linen or clothing to designated areas on time.
Hygiene & Safety
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in laundry rooms and work areas.
- Follow chemical handling and safety guidelines, including proper use of detergents and cleaning agents.
- Comply with HACCP, fire safety, and occupational health requirements.
- Report any equipment faults, maintenance needs, or safety hazards to supervisors.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Monitor laundry supplies (detergents, softeners, chemicals) and report stock shortages.
- Maintain laundry equipment in good working condition, perform basic cleaning and preventive checks.
- Assist in inventory counts of linen, uniforms, and supplies.
Guest Service
- Handle guest laundry and personal items with care and discretion.
- Ensure items are returned in excellent condition and on time.
- Respond politely and professionally to guest requests or special instructions.
Teamwork & Coordination
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, and F&B teams for timely laundry services.
- Support other housekeeping duties when necessary.
- Attend team briefings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational training in laundry operations is a plus.
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial laundry environment preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and processes.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of laundry machines, ironing techniques, and stain removal.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail and quality in handling linen and garments.
- Physical stamina to stand, lift, and carry laundry loads for extended periods.
Language
- Basic English communication skills required; Arabic is an advantage.
